FCMP Workshop Series: Spray Painting with Max McGuigan
Spray Paint Workshop with Graffiti Artist, Max McGuigan
In the summer of 2022, FCMP hosted our first hands-on workshop with graffiti artist of over 20 years, Max McGuigan. Ten eager artists signed up to learn a variety of techniques to use in their mural careers. Max guided the group through spray tips, line work, color blocking, and shading, culminating in a collaboratively painted mural on the shipping container at the Gearage in Fort Collins, CO. The mural process was designed and organized by the artist, Max, with the support of Jess Bean, Executive Director of FCMP.
Originally from Providence, RI Max moved to Fort Collins last year to support his girlfriend at Vet school at CSU. He loves letter forms but in the last ten years has branched out into making other works of art that still encapsulate the energy and aesthetic of graffiti. Max experiences a lot of self doubt like most artists do but just continues to make happy accidents until he sees something he likes in front of him.

This workshop was made possible with support from the Fort Collins Downtown Development Authority.
