Request for Qualification (RFQ) for the 2024 FoCoMX window murals.
FoCoMX is looking for 5 Northern Colorado artists to paint a window of a participating venue. Each artist will be asked to paint a design in the theme of blooming/growing instruments with elements like roots, flowers, fruit, music, and vibrations to evoke the feeling of music. The instruments can be fantastical - no need to stick to real instruments. (See artist Christopher Shaw’s design on the FoCo MX graphic above for inspiration).
All experience levels are welcome. Fort Collins Mural Project board members will walk you through how to properly execute a window mural, so there is no need for prior experience. This is a great opportunity for emerging artists and muralists.
Each window will be unique in size and shape and will be assigned once artists are selected. DO NOT send in designs for this project at this time. While we understand the excitement of wanting to design now, we ask that you refrain until you have been officially hired for your hard work. You deserve to be paid for it!
FCMP will provide a stencil of the FoCoMX logo. Logos can be painted in any color combination. No need for a background for your design & FoCoMX logo (the venues need to keep visibility during the very busy and exciting FoCoMX weekend). Images that depict violence, hate speech, drug use, and/or are sexual explicit will not be selected.
Stipend: Each artist will be paid $100 and receive two VIP wristbands for FoCoMX ($150 value) upon completion.
